Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor”

Schubert Symphony No. 9, “The Great”

Courtney Lewis, conductor

Daniel Hsu, piano

Our celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday continues with his “Emperor” Piano Concerto. Classical FM calls it, “…the most accomplished
of all piano concertos with a striking opening movement and glorious finale but it’s the beauty and serenity of the adagio which makes this Beethoven’s best.” Witness 2017 Van Cliburn Competition medal-winner Daniel Hsu’s commanding facility in this masterpiece.
